CHIROPRACTIC MANIPULATION
Our chiropractors use a variety of chiropractic manipulation techniques including diversified (manual) and drop table, as well as gentle instrument adjusting using Activator, Pro-Adjuster and Impulse IQ.
ULTRASOUND
Ultrasound is a treatment modality used by chiropractors that utilizes high or low frequency sound waves that are transmitted to the surrounding tissue and vasculature. These sound waves penetrate the muscles to cause deep tissue muscle warming. This promotes tissue relaxation and therefore is useful in treating muscle tightness and spasms. The warming effect also causes vessel vasodilatation, which increases circulation to the area that assists in healing. Ultrasound can also be used to help decrease inflammation.
ELECTRICAL STIMULATION
Electrical stimulation uses an electrical current to cause a single muscle or a group of muscles to contract. By placing electrodes on the skin in various locations the chiropractor can recruit the appropiate muscle fibers. Contracting the muscle via electrical stimulation helps to fatigue the muscle therefore helping the muscle area to relax. The chiropractor can change the current setting to allow for a forceful or gentle muscle contraction. Along with increasing muscle relaxation, the contraction of the muscle also promotes blood supply to the area that assists in healing.
HYDROMASSAGE THERAPY
Massage therapy has been used for hundreds of years to provide relaxation and to promote the healing process. Hydromassage is an alternative form of massage therapy that temporarily helps to relieve muscle tension, promote relaxation, relieve stress and anxiety, increase blood circulation, reduce muscle soreness and increase muscular range.
MYOFASCIAL RELEASE
Myofascial release is a safe and very effective technique that involves applying gentle sustained pressure into the myofascial connective tissue restrictions to eliminate pain and restore motion.
CUSTOM ORTHOTICS
Custom made orthotics comfortably help to maximize the support provided by the feet to create a more stable foundation. Custom orthotics can help correct flat feet, help heal foot pain and spurs, help with plantar fasciitis and stabilize the spine.
